Claude's art has become very important to him, he has chosen it as a medium through which he can communicate his passions and imaginings. The combination of his chosen media are some of the most difficult to work with. The carving of glass requires the removal of the positive shape, while the carving of stone and wood requires the removal of the negative shape - diametrically opposite techniques.
A regular contributor to Edmonton's annual Festival of Trees, Claude has been chosen "People's Choice for Creative Artwork" for three years in succession. In 1995, Claude's design combination of stone and glass for the Alberta Summer Games presentation awards won the "Cultural Award Contest." His glass work can be found in many public buildings and private homes throughout Alberta and as far as Yellowknife, NWT. Claude is actively involved with the Society of Western Canadian Artists.
Recent experimentation with adding unique light sources enables the viewer to see the intricate details possible in glass carving. Only time will prove that this technique to creating sculpture has the greatest archival endurance - a repository of Claude's artistic vision.
